Welcome to Fall!

Do you know what today is?

I’ve been dreaming about this moment since January 1.

Today is the first day of my favorite season of the year–Fall.

I’ve always been a Fall girl, especially growing up in Florida.
I can still bare my legs to the hot Florida sun…without worrying about being burnt.

It doesn’t officially become chilly until October hits.

There’s the county fair, Halloween, two family birthdays (which means food), then Thanksgiving (which means even more food), and then…Christmas will be here before you know it (I shouldn’t have to tell you–more food!)

Beyond the exorbitant amount of incredible meals that are eaten during this season, and days of celebration, I love Fall for a bit more esoteric reason.

Something about Fall makes me calm. There’s a stillness that lives in my heart throughout the season, right up until Christmas time.
I’m not doing much, usually, other than planning. Perhaps it’s because I start preparing my New Year’s Resolutions during August-September. I know that if I want true transformation during the next year,  I must really think about where I should adjust my goals, dreams, ambitions, and sometimes myself before December 28. Getting down to the grittiest parts early, because truthfully, the year is almost over.

Setting my home up to be place where I can put my dreams down on paper, and even start to lay the foundation for their arrival is so important to me during Autumn.  It’s almost like preparing so that when I awake from Winter’s hibernation, I won’t feel that uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach from realizing that most of my dreams were just that–dreams.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be posting more “Fall themed” things to celebrate the beginning of the best time of the year. From fashion to home decor to home organization and party planning, I’ll cover it all! Also…I’m a Pinterest fiend! So, you can check out more Fall inspiration via the Fall 2013 board. I even have several DIY projects to cross off my list, so expect to see a few show up on here.
